Happy New Year to all our members. Thanks to all who have helped make this site work by posting their contributions. Please keep these coming in 2008.

2008 promises to be a year of exciting developments, especially with the 2008 Royal Escape Race. Your club's volunteer workers all enjoy receiving feedback from the wider membership. This is just one avenue available for your use.

Once again, best wishes for 2008.  

This site is now coming up to its first six months.  The response has been very gratifying, but we are starting to ask how effective it has been in matching crews to boats - which was the original remit!

If you have had a good - or indeed bad - sailing experience as a result of using this forum, please let us know.

Any suggestions for improvement will also be welcome.

To all who are taking part, have a great day. I hope you get the wind conditions to favour your sail round the Island and that nobody gets into difficulties with short-cuts round the Needles.

As I recall last year was a flat calm and boats were hard pressed to complete the course before low tide.

I'm not a betting person but - hey - I'll take a punt on Flyover for a place  in their class.

Welcome to the Forum.

I'm only to happy to set up the sections (categories) you have suggested. I will create a Divers category and a Rowers category with a Genral Forum in each. Please can you or other within these sections then let me know of other specific Forums (Fora? Forenses?) that you would like within these categories, and I will create them.

Welcome to the new SYC Forum.

We've been up and running for a couple of weeks now and it is good to see how many members have joined already and the suggestions for new Forums.

As so many of us consider this event to be the high spot of our sailing year, we thought it would be a good idea to devote a whole thread to boats who have space for crew members for this particular occasion.

This topic will stay at the top of this forum until after the actual race.
