Title: Valerie - another surviving Stow built yacht
Post by: Nelson on March 01, 2011, 07:29:07 PM
I am researching the history of Stow & Sons of Shoreham and am adding to this the surviving yachts they built (six so far) that we know of.
One of them is the 'Valerie' built about 1900 (with sails surprisingly made by 'Madder' rather than at Shoreham which then was still making sails) - the current owner (at Bangor, North Wales) tells me that the vessel did not leave Shoreham until the 1980's when it was rigged as a schooner.
By any chance does anyone remember her and do you have any photos?
