Anyone else doing RTIR this year?
Olivia Anne will be in Cowes Yacht Haven on Friday, and on the start line at 06:00 for IRC 3 - would be good to know if other SYC boats will be there too...!
Cheers
Jan
Hi Jan,we will be on the same start line weather permiting, dont no where we are mooring as no one would let us book a berth.Whats the secret to booking at yacht haven.
Tim
Hi Jan
Mojo will be there. starting at stupid o clock! sailing down over Thursday night/ Friday morning. That way we get in before the rush and get a place in Shepherds Warf.
See you there...good luck
Hi Tim,
In my case the secret was having the boat there 2 weeks earlier for another event. Not the cheapest solution!
Now as regards a berth after the event, I'm doing the free for all to get back into somewhere in Cowes like everyone else. Another incentive to get round quick I guess.
Early days for forecasting I guess, but Windguru tells me we're looking at a F2-3 W-NW'ly.....
Best of luck if we don't see you before start!

Hi Jan
Truant (HOD 35) will be there and Flyover will be there too. I will be on Truant.
See you in the beer tent!

Any room for my brother Rupert on Olivia An for RTI? Our boat is full. If so can you let me know?
thanks
Ben
Looks like a proper SYC contingent then...! First one round gets the beers in (safe bet for me to say that)
Ben - afraid I'm 'full' - very full as regards getting 4 bodies below on Sat night as it is. If we were forecast for a big blow I'd be very welcome of a 5th body for ballast, but not shaping up that way. Sorry I can't help this time.

To all who are taking part, have a great day. I hope you get the wind conditions to favour your sail round the Island and that nobody gets into difficulties with short-cuts round the Needles.
As I recall last year was a flat calm and boats were hard pressed to complete the course before low tide.
I'm not a betting person but - hey - I'll take a punt on Flyover for a place in their class.
Good luck to all, and for the remaining cruisers and racers, have a great weekend at Sovereign Harbour,
Thanks "Admin".Moonlight Saunter will be at Eastbourne lightly crewed.Couldnt find anyone interested from 1500 Members!?Perhaps its me?To court popularity and put a few more aboard she will be wearing the "Gin Pennant" pre dinner. On that subject you may not all know that Nick (Who spent some time with us) is SHYC Chef so we will be supporting him for dinner.
Good for you David. Kingfisher will also be patronising SHYC (and Moonlight Saunter under the gin pennant!)
well done jan great result didnt see you all day now know why.
Tim
Thanks Tim.
We had a bit of a blinder of a day, conditions really suited us - well chuffed to beat the other quarter tonners after a not so great result in the quarter ton cup (no wind tho...). Managed not to hit the Varvassi in the process....
We legged it at 7am on Sunday to get back to Shoreham, had a fast but wet run. Hope your return went well - serious milage for you guys in the 3 days!
Saw Mojo retired - what happened Robin?

Hi Jan
Sorry, been a bit busy recently!
Take note anyone reading this. Jan has achieved a notable victory by winning the quarter tonne class.
Congratulations on a super result, you should be very pleased with that. You beat some well respected and well sailed boats. Well played Jan.
Robin
