OK just for the record, Rob Vyse is the little dude who was one of the few to have a more uncomfortable weekend than Rob G and the other Fastnutters.

"I wonder if I can ride my bike faster than Henry (the dog) can run" wonders Rob. "Ah but how to get him to run in the right direction whilst I pedal hard?" "I know, lets tie Henry's lead to my handlebars and that'll keep us together".

You can see this coming can't you?

Rob pedals at top speed down the road towards Mum who's waiting for him in the drive. Henry gets the idea that he just needs to go as fast as he can, but decides to go the other side of a tree from Rob. The lead extends as far as it can before coming up tight and pulling Rob's handlebars 90 degrees. Bike stops. Rob does not. He somersaults over the handlebars, lands on his right knee and then face plants in the tarmac. Mum doesn't think he'll ever get up.

Much, much later he's in a children's ward in Worthing Hospital and we get the news. He's broken the 'growth plate' at the end of his femur within the right knee. This is a big deal. He gets the full theatre treatment and emgerges with a full cast to be worn for 6 weeks. This is excellent news according to Rob as it means no football next term but he should be ready for the Rugby.

Dog is as barking mad as ever. Neither of them appeared to have learnt anything though as yesterday they tried the speed thing again with Henry towing Rob's wheelchair....Doh!
