Once again the CAKS Prizegiving Dinner looks to be in the fortunate and unusual position of being potentially oversubscribed.  As we have not raced offshore this season, we will not be applying for tickets.  Our best wishes to all who do.

A recent club e-mail has referred to promoting the attendance of as many crews as possible, but I wonder whether this is the best approach?  All who attend (or wish to) should be members of SYC and alike in their entitlement to participate if they have taken part in the year's eventing.  Is it beyond our ingenuity to relate availability of tickets to the relevant individual's degree of involvement during the season?  This would be independent of any allegiance to a particular boat or boats.

I write as one for whom the matter is purely academic.

Some newer Members may well be under the impression that the CAKS Ball is mainly Prizegiving and therefore for those who have won.Not so.Like all functions run by our various Sections tickets are available to all so if you want a fun evening in great company and a chance to spoil your lady "come on chaps and support this prestige event"
